Arizona Is Ground Zero for SNAP Cuts Crisis

TUCSON —Ahead of this evening's vote on the Farm Bill, Honest Arizona executive director Andrea Moreno released the following statement:

“Republicans like Juan Ciscomani and David Schweikert gutted nutrition assistance in last year's Republican Tax Law, and now their own constituents are facing a crisis, as many Arizonans are unable to get the food they need because it’s become nearly impossible to afford. Schweikert and Ciscoman now have a chance to undo their cuts and reinstate funding for SNAP in the Farm Bill. After all, rural Arizonans and farm workers rely on SNAP just like those in urban areas. Ciscomani and Schweikert have a chance to reject that tired Republican lie and vote against this Farm Bill that fails to reinstate SNAP funding.”
