NEW: Ciscomani, Schweikert Vote to Raise Health Care Costs, Reduce Coverage For Arizonans
TUCSON – Honest Arizona Executive Director Andrea Moreno issued the following statement after Congressmen Juan Ciscomani and David Schweikert refused to support the three-year extension of health care tax credits and instead voted for the Republican health care bill that would raise health care premiums for many Americans and leave hundreds of thousands more uninsured:
“Congressmen Schweikert and Ciscomani say they care about reducing health care costs for their constituents, but they both refused to support a three-year extension of health care tax credits today to make insurance on the exchange more affordable, and they instead voted for a half-baked bill that increases costs for Arizonans, leaving more without coverage and threatening to strip protections for people with pre-existing conditions. Arizonans are demanding lower health care costs, but Schweikert and Ciscomani are offering their constituents the exact opposite. Congressmen Schweikert and Ciscoman should vote to extend the ACA tax credits for three years when the bill comes to the floor.”
