Ciscomani, Schweikert Vote Against Restoring Cost-Saving Health Care Tax Credits

TUCSON — Honest Arizona Executive Director Andrea Moreno released the following statement after Congressmen David Schweikert and Juan Ciscomani voted against a bipartisan proposal to lower health care costs by providing health care tax credits to help Arizonans afford coverage on the ACA Marketplace:

“Despite its overwhelming success at providing health care coverage for his constituents, Congressman Schweikert has consistently voted against the ACA or any efforts to lower health care costs. Arizonans are demanding lower costs, but all they’ve gotten from Schweikert’s votes is higher costs and loss of coverage. Making health care unaffordable while giving billionaires tax breaks is a complete failure of leadership for Arizonans.

Congressman Ciscomani has said time and again that he cares about lowering health care costs; he’s signed numerous letters and put his name on bills, but when it comes to voting, he’s been steadfast in raising health care costs for Arizonans. From voting for the Republican Tax Law that kicks millions off of Medicaid and AHCCCS to today’s vote to lower premiums, he’s yet again, ignored his own constituents.”
