ACA Open Enrollment Ends, Ciscomani and Schweikert Leave Arizonans Paying Higher Health Care Costs

TUCSON — As the Affordable Care Act’s Open Enrollment period comes to a close, hundreds of thousands of Arizonans face higher health care costs this year because Congressmen Juan Ciscomani and David Schwikert voted against lower health care costs.

Despite promising to make health care more affordable, Ciscomani and Schweikert voted against health care tax credits that helped nearly 400,000 Arizonans afford health care coverage by lowering their monthly premiums and expanding coverage across Arizona.

“These tax credits were a lifeline for Arizona families struggling with rising costs,” said Honest Arizona Executive Director Andrea Moreno. “Ciscomani and Schweikert are directly responsible for higher premiums and the very real possibility that thousands of Arizonans will lose their health insurance altogether.”
