Ciscomani & Schweikert Should Keep Promise to Arizonans, Kill GOP Tax Scam

TUCSON —   As early as this morning, Congressmen David Schweikert and Juan Ciscomani have one last chance to kill the GOP Tax Scam that could take away health care coverage from 17 million Americans while giving lavish tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans.

Ciscomani and Schweikert both supported the House version of the GOP Tax Scam, which takes away Arizonans’ health care, food, access to clean energy tax credits, and even balloons the national debt, all to pay for tax breaks for billionaires. Congressman Ciscomani even sent letters to the Senate urging them to fix the bad bill he had already voted for. However, the Senate version that they're expected to vote on this week is worse than the House version, including a quicker end to clean energy tax credits and even more Arizonans losing their health care coverage. Ciscomani recently claimed he would not support the Senate version of the bill, which could kick 365,984 Arizonans off their healthcare.

“If Congressmen Schweikert and Ciscomani are to be taken at their word, then they have to vote against the GOP Tax Scam. The bill would take away health care from millions, deny food to families and children who need it, raise energy and utility costs, and place trillions of dollars in debt on my children's future and the future of millions of young Americans to pay for more billionaire and corporate tax breaks. They know it's true because they've said so themselves with their own words. Congressmen Schweikert and Ciscomani: do the right thing and kill the GOP Tax Scam once and for all!”
