Reconciliation Update: Ciscomani & Schweikert Can't Vote For Republican Tax Scam, According to Their Own Statements

PHOENIX — Andrea Moreno, executive director for Honest Arizona, released the following statement before Congressmen Juan Ciscomani and David Schweikert, as well as the rest of their U.S. House colleagues, vote on the Republican Tax Scam bill that would throw over 300,000 Arizonans —including seniors, veterans, and working families with children—off of their health care coverage and provide trillions of dollars in deficit-busting tax giveaways to the wealthiest Americans and corporations:

"If Congressmen Ciscomani and Schweikert are to be taken at their word, there's no way they can vote for the Republican funding bill that the U.S. House will vote on as early as this afternoon. Congressman Ciscomani said he would not vote for a bill that cuts Medicaid and eliminates health care coverage for Arizonans, and Congressman Schweikert said he opposed putting the burden of massive tax breaks for the wealthy on future generations by ballooning the debt trillions of dollars – this bill does both. Arizonans know this bill is bad for the state and terrible for working families, and they've been pressuring both congressmen to vote 'no.' We're also calling on Ciscomani and Schweikert to stick to their word and vote no."
