Arizonans Forced to Give Thanks With Higher Prices

TUCSON – As Republican tariffs and economic policies wreak havoc, Arizonans are being forced to spend Thanksgiving paying higher prices than they paid just one year ago.

Congressmen Ciscomani and Schweikert have voted in support of President Trump's tariffs that are forcing prices to go up across the board.

According to a thorough new report on prices and economic insecurity from Groundwork Collaborative:

“Americans are already feeling the pain of these soaring prices, with a majority saying that it’s harder to afford a typical Thanksgiving meal this year compared to last, according to new polling from Data for Progress. Moreover, two-thirds of voters feel stressed about affording holiday expenses, including one in five who say they feel very stressed.

These high holiday costs under Trump are forcing Americans to cut back on spending, with a majority of people saying they are taking some action to brace for high prices this Thanksgiving, such as buying fewer items, hosting smaller gatherings, taking on debt to cover holiday-related expenses, or cutting back on Thanksgiving travel.”

"Arizonans have less to be thankful for this year since Congressmen Ciscomani and Schweikert have voted in lockstep with Republican economic policies that are forcing Arizonans to pay higher prices," said Andrea Moreno, executive director of Honest Arizona. "Congressman Ciscomani needs to urge his colleagues to stop tariffs that are only hurting Arizona families."
