Arizonans Express Frustration With Ciscomani’s Vote for the Republican Tax Law
TUCSON — After breaking his promise to protect Medicaid, Arizonans are already expressing frustration with Congressman Ciscomani over his vote for the Republican Tax Law that would eliminate health care coverage for millions of Americans.
Last month, Congressman Ciscomani wrote Senators telling them their cuts to Medicaid were too extreme and would hurt his constituents. The letter to the Senate came after Ciscomani already voted for the House Republican version of the plan in May that would rip Medicaid from 193,980 Arizonans. Despite Ciscomani’s claims and promises, when extreme cuts came up for another vote, Ciscomani voted "aye."
According to KGUN9:
"...many people on Medicaid are worried about what this means for their healthcare, including 23-year-old Garrett Newell.
Newell is from Tucson and has cerebral palsy. He says Medicaid helps pay for his surgeries and healthcare, and cuts would impact him tremendously.
Newell has been faced with many challenges in his life, things that might seem simple, like walking, was no easy task.
He said he's frustrated with Ciscomani for voting for the Big Beautiful Bill Act.
'Your unwillingness to fight is annoying as hell as well as deeply, deeply, deeply, angers me,' Newell said."
