Job Title: Organizing Fellow
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Reports To: Executive Director
Time Commitment/Classification
: Independent Contractor/1099 June-August

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Advancing AZ is looking for organizing fellows to help the outreach and events program in Arizona. Fellows will advocate for economic policies that work for everyday people and mobilize community leaders, and constituents on key issues to hold federal elected officials accountable.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a drumbeat of advocacy and accountability actions in your district

Community Outreach

  • Identify and recruit storytellers in the community willing to speak out and share their personal stories on issues related to the economy.

  • Inform the community about federal economic policies that impact their families and communities. 

Events

  • Plan and execute earned media events

  • Brainstorm creative event ideas

Ideal Candidate:

  • You are proactive and organized

  • Comfortable recruiting community members and storytellers with sensitivity and respect

  • You are an effective communicator - capable of making policy and complicated issues relatable to working people

  • You are passionate about progressive issues and are committed to working towards more inclusive and equitable public policy

In addition, it would be a bonus if:

  • Have a familiarity with our issue areas

  • Are familiar with issues important to state and district residents

  • Have a connection to the state and its communities, such as having lived or worked here

  • Are fluent in both English and Spanish

Benefits and Compensation:

  • $2, 000 a month
