Honest Arizona, Veterans Host Roundtable Discussion on High Costs, Tariffs & Health Care Caused by Ciscomani’s Voting Record
TUCSON — Honest Arizona hosted a veterans roundtable in Tucson on Thursday where veterans from across Arizona shared how they, their families and other veterans were dealing with the high costs caused by tariffs and the Republican Tax Law.
The Republican Tax Law – that Congressman Ciscomani voted for – cut Medicaid and SNAP nutrition assistance that veterans and their families depend on to afford health care and food. While many veterans receive their health care through the VA, one in 10 veterans rely on Medicaid for their health care coverage..
Omar, who was featured in an accountability ad this week focused on Ciscomani’s voting record, shared how cuts to health care and SNAP were designed to give tax breaks to the very wealthy.
“The millionaires and billionaires aren’t worried about us because they’re always going to be able to afford health care,” said Omar. “We’re just asking that elected leaders honor their contract and that they continue to protect us and continue to provide for us.”
Veterans from VetsForward and Common Defense also attended.
